Group ADOPT Packages


The animals at Lincoln Park Zoo gobble up their vegetables in astonishing quantities. Just how much do they eat? Zoo animals eat nearly 40,000 pounds, or about 20 tons, of produce each and every week. A typical “grocery list” for a week at the zoo might include

100 pounds apples
120 pounds bananas
135 pounds onions
80 pounds spinach
100 pounds celery
30 pounds grapes

 170 pounds potatoes
80 pounds green beans
350 pounds lettuce
30 pounds oranges
200 pounds carrots

An ADOPT an Animal sponsorship is an opportunity for your school or youth group to get involved and to help us feed the zoo’s animals. Inspire children ages 5–12 to learn the importance of wildlife conservation and teamwork. Choose a favorite animal—one that symbolizes your school mascot or reflects your concern for a specific endangered animal—then, develop a creative way to raise money for your ADOPT an Animal donation.

All of the animals at Lincoln Park Zoo may be ADOPTed. If your favorite member of the zoo family is not listed here, write the name of the animal in the space provided on the order page.

Group ADOPT an Animal Levels/Benefits
For a donation of $25–$99, your group will receive:

 ADOPT an Animal certificate
•
 Wallet-size photo of ADOPTed animal
•
 Curriculum folder and materials
For $100–$249, your group will receive all of the above plus:
•
 ADOPT an Animal talk at Lincoln Park Zoo (maximum 40 participants)
•
 8"X10" photo of ADOPTed animal*
For $250–$499, your group will receive all of the above plus:
•
 Name recognition in the zoo’s Annual Report
For $500 and up, your group will receive all of the above plus:
A special day at the zoo, including:
Up-close animal encounters
Guided tour of zoo grounds
Special tour*
*Due to age restrictions, K–1 will receive a special ADOPT an Animal talk.
