FEATURES-NEWS

Café at Wild Things

The new Café at Wild Things showcases certified organic meats and produce and locally produced breads and dairy products. All serving utensils and containers are reusable, recyclable or biodegradable. Since organic and local foods have a lower carbon footprint than conventional items, the new restaurant contributes to Lincoln Park Zoo's goal of rapidly reducing its contribution to climate change.

Greener Office Supplies

Zoo office areas use 100 percent post-consumer recycled copy paper. Recycled papers is also used in publications produced by the zoo's Graphics and Publications Department.

CSA for Staff

Beginning in 2008, zoo staff have been able to sign up for a community-supported agriculture program. Participants receive weekly deliveries of locally farmed organic produce from Montalbano Farms.
