Apprentice Keeper
Under close supervision, participates in the daily animal care and maintenance of particular exhibits. Graduation from a high school or the equivalent (GED) is required. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Biological Sciences (i.e. Biology, Zoology, Ecology) or a closely related discipline is preferred. Previous experience performing animal care activities in zoo, aquarium or like institution is also desirable. Experience in designated taxonomic area preferred. Comparable combination of education and experience may also qualify a person for position. Available to work all necessary hours, including weekends, holidays, special events and all shifts. Available to attend training sessions and conferences as needed.

Guest Services Coordinator
GENERAL SUMMARY Provide professional and courteous service to guests and to assist in all areas of the Guest Services Department ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Daily operations: Greet all guests courteously, determine their needs and direct them appropriately. Oversee the daily operations of Gateway and Concessions. Design and maintain spreadsheets tracking revenues and expenditures for Concessions. Increase awareness of Guest Services role at the zoo and how we can assist other departments in carrying out their programs.

Manager, Public Programs
Responsible for the management of all activities of the Public Programs team, including youth, family and adult programs.

Chicago Zoological and Aquatic Animal Residency Program
The University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine in conjunction with Brookfield Zoo, Lincoln Park Zoo and John G. Shedd Aquarium are offering a three year residency in Zoological and Aquatic Animal Medicine. The residency is approved by the American College of Zoological Medicine (ACZM) and is supervised by two Diplomates of this college. The residency is supported by a minimum six full-time zoo, aquatic and wildlife veterinarians between all the facilities. The residency is designed to integrate experiences from all four institutions to provide clinical training that will enable the resident to become competent in exotic, zoo, aquatic and wildlife medicine and provide the necessary requirements to be eligible for certification in the American College of Zoological Medicine.

Manager of Donor Relations
In consultation with the Vice President for Development, work with Women’s and Auxiliary Board Presidents to determine Board direction and goals. Manage the Board of Directors communications and stewardship plan. Oversee daily activities of the Donor Relations team and consistently determine departmental priorities and objectives.

Research Intern (2 positions)
The Research Intern position is a full-time research internship in the population biology program in the Zoo’s Conservation and Science Department; the position is funded by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The grant is focused on studying and evaluating the system used to manage populations of animals in zoos and aquariums. This management system makes recommendations on how many births should be produced and which animals should move between zoos to make the best genetic matches. The Research Intern will work with the project team to extract data from past recommendations for hundreds of diverse species, enter the data into a web-based database, and analyze data to assess patterns within and between managed populations. There are 2 Research Intern positions, with a duration of 9 months each (although duration may be altered based on needs of project and applicants).

Assistanat Manager-Volunteer Services
Under the supervision of the Volunteer Services Manager, responsible for staffing the Volunteer Office and conducting start-of-shift meetings, communicating any pertinent information to volunteers, monitoring compliance with uniform regulations and assigning volunteers to stations throughout the zoo. Schedule is 4 days a week, Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday, (28 hrs. per week).
