Sue Margulis, Ph.D.
Margulis has been on the faculty at the University of Chicago since 2001, where she teaches research in animal behavior. She is a member of the Executive Committee of the Animal Behavior Society (ABS) as well as a member of the ABS Education Committee. She chairs the Behavior Advisory Group of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), serves on the Steering Committee of the AZA’s Ape Taxon Advisory Group, is the Research Advisor to the AZA Gibbon Species Survival Plan (SSP), and is part of the Management Group of the Gorilla SSP. Sue Margulis received her Ph.D. in evolutionary biology from the University
of Chicago in 1996. She joined the staff of Lincoln Park Zoo as Curator
of Primates in 2004, after spending six years at Brookfield Zoo as behavioral
